Bryn Cannon

Bryn Cannon teaches violin and viola at the Granite Dells Strings Studio in Prescott, AZ, where she maintains a thriving class of private students of all ages and abilities. Her students here and in her former studio in Seattle have been frequent award winners and principal players in regional and state-wide student orchestras.

Before relocating to Prescott, Bryn taught upper strings beginning classes for the Northshore school district and coached high school chamber ensembles, in addition to private studio instruction.

Bryn performs frequently with the Prescott Pops and Chamber orchestras, Prescott Chamber Players, Yavapai College Broadway series, and various local ensembles. She is former principal viola for Kirkland Symphony, Orchestra Seattle, Puget Sound Symphony, and Lyric Arts Ensemble. Bryn has also performed with Celtic bands Acoustic Cadence, Salt, and Third Harbour, and composes classical and Celtic music for various instrumentation.

Bryn studied viola performance at The Eastman School of Music under Heidi Castleman, violin and viola pedagogy at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music under Mimi Zweig, and Celtic fiddle at the Riley School in Cincinnati and privately with Irish fiddler Kevin Burke and Scottish fiddler Ryan McKasson.
