DESERT HILLS COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF MUSIC

Recording Studio Lab

Ever wanted to learn how to professionally record yourself or others?

Thanks to a generous grant from the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, DHCSM has a portable Recording Studio. Our Spring 2025 semester offers a 15-week course in the fundamentals of digital recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, utilizing the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Reaper.

The class will be jointly taught by Kevin Weingartner and Shane Vance. Kevin holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Audio Production Technologies and works as a freelance DJ and audio specialist. Shane has many years of recording experience and has independently released two albums from his own studio.
