-Jocelyn D., parent

Donna Wilde has been teaching and performing as a singer and saxophonist for more than a quarter of a century. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a Bachelor in Music Education (voice and saxophone), Donna began working as a freelance composer, musician, and recording artist. Her strength in jazz, pop, and Broadway styles of music led her to a contract with a show band for Carnival Cruise Lines.

Today, she sings and plays with several popular local bands, including the S’mile Band, Mancini Band, and WildeP’lay. With the latter, she recorded the album “Fabric of Love,” and continues to produce and release music on a regular basis. She also holds the tenor chair in the Fountain Hills Saxophone Quartet, with whom she recorded a Christmas album, "Baby It’s Warm Outside." Donna serves as co-director of music at The Fountains Church in Fountain Hills.

In addition to her extensive performance and recording career, Donna has taught for 24 years in both private studio and public school settings, both individual and group classes, for students of all ages and experience levels. Her teaching specialties include voice, saxophone, beginning piano, jazz, Broadway, pop, folk, classical, and improvisation techniques. She believes strongly that studying music develops powerful skills such as listening, expression, creativity, collaboration, discipline, and poise.
