Desert Hills Community School of Music


Desert Hills Community School of Music serves the North Scottsdale, Carefree, and Cave Creek areas with world-class music instruction for all ages and ability levels. Located at the foot of the boulders on the scenic campus of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, our offerings include:


  • Group and private music lessons for keyboard  (piano, organ), harp, strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwinds  (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone), and voice

 

  • An audition-based Advanced Music Program (AMP) for children ages 7-18 who show extraordinary dedication to musical excellence


  • A Music Exploration program for children ages 6-10 who show early interest in music


  • Ensembles for all ages, including Community Band, Saxophone Ensemble, Flute Choir, and chamber groups for youth, including string quartet, woodwind quintet, and saxophone quartet


  • Recording Studio Lab, a hands-on class that teaches the art and science of music recording and production



  • Instrument rentals for $20/month to actively enrolled DHCSM students who need an instrument

Welcome

Mikaela Hannon!


DHCSM is pleased to welcome flutist Mikaela Hannon to its faculty. Mikaela is currently a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University where she also recently received her DMA in flute performance. She teaches flute and orchestra for Harmony Project Phoenix and is actively involved with the Arizona Flute Society, currently serving as the organization's Secretary.
She is now accepting new students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
